Last term’s outdoor Science project! THE BUG HUNT!

Last term we learnt all about animals, their habitats and how they were suited to survive there. We decided we wanted to investigate what creatures live in the Lark Hall School grounds and think about how they were adapted to this environment. In order to do this, we decided we would need to head outside and observe bugs in their natural habitats!

We focused on how to observe carefully and record information like scientists. We created our own tables to input our data, drew diagrams and made scientific notes.

Here are some photos of us ‘entomologists’ (insect scientists) at work.

What did we find out about the creatures that live at Lark Hall?

Can you give some examples of how one of the creatures is adapted to its environment?
